MESSAGE FROM THE LEAGUE CHAIRMAN
A big welcome to you from the Management Committee of the Testway Youth Football League. Let us hope we can complete this season with much better weather this time. Last year gave us all much angst.
The League continues to go from strength to strength and has done for the last 30 plus years that we have been in operation. This is my 18th term as Chairman of the League, and I am proud to hold such a position in a League that has the standing we do.
As always, I remind all of our support for the correct behaviours of all. Last season we still saw a number of unacceptable situations and these behaviours must continue to be improved further. We will continue to monitor KPI scores given by opponents. Please support all the best practice initiatives of the FA and League ethics and respect all in the game.
The foundations of the League remain. Encourage and participate in Competitive Football in a Friendly and Co-operative Nature. No matter how long you have been involved in this league please remember these ideals and encourage your club and its players, officials and spectators to always adhere to these. No finer point than this is the Tournaments and Finals where behaviours have been very good. All are big occasions in our calendar.
Please support the Management Committee, we are here to manage the competition within the Rules and those of the Football Association. We were pioneers in Mini Soccer and very proud of the stance in this area which over the years have paid dividends. The quality of football in the league improves every year and again this season we continue to see teams requesting to join us. A sure sign of success.
Unfortunately, we lost our sponsors some time ago and we have not been able to replace them. In the current climate it still remains a big challenge for the League to find a replacement. If there are any opportunities out there, please let the League know. This will help us with our expenses and ultimately keeping costs down to make football affordable for more in these difficult monetary times.
I wish you all well during the coming season and I hope you will see me at one of your forthcoming fixtures post my replacement hip operations in September 2023 and May 2024. The Management Committee and I get to many games every year and thoroughly enjoy what we see. Here is hoping we can complete this season without interruption of poor weather.

Chair of the Testway Youth Football League
